Essential Program Guide & Application Details
What is the Crafters License?
This specialized program allows small-scale crafters and low-volume producers to legally use official Auburn University trademarks and logos on handmade items. All products must receive explicit university permission prior to sale.
Eligibility Requirements
- Small-Scale Only: Limited strictly to individual crafters and low-volume creators.
- No Retail Storefronts: Not designed for established businesses with physical, brick-and-mortar retail locations.
- Non-Apparel Only: Crafters must exclusively sell non-apparel items.
Rules & Brand Restrictions
- No Apparel: Branding on clothing items (t-shirts, hats, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
- Standard Logos: Usage is restricted exclusively to standard, official university logos.
- Approved Text: Verbiage is strictly limited to the following phrases:
- Liability Insurance: All participating crafters must hold valid product liability insurance.
Fees & Application Process
The program is managed by the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) via the Community Connect platform.
- Program Cost: Fees correspond to your planned production volume. The minimum fee is $150.00 per contract term.
- Design Approval: You must submit every design for approval to Auburn University Trademark Licensing. Conceptual designs will be considered before you complete final artwork.
