August 26, 2025

UCLA Trademark Licensing and UCLA Athletics are pleased to announce a long-term partnership with 2K that will have UCLA Basketball in the spotlight of a future project from the globe’s favorite basketball video game maker.

With 11 national championships, and players of legendary status, it’s hard to argue that UCLA basketball, both men’s and women’s, is not one of the most famous programs in all of college basketball.

For the first time in history, fans of UCLA Basketball will be able to play as current UCLA women’s and men’s players in a video game.

This all made into reality by the NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) era that has brought college athletics into a new world. The beginning of NIL has roots in the groundbreaking legal case made by fomer UCLA superstar Ed O’Bannon. The case produce the way for student-athlete’s across the nation to benefit from the commercial use of their name, image and likeness in vidoe games and beyond.
