Iowa State University, Collegiate Licensing Company Partner with Local Backpocket Brewing to Create Licensed Craft Beer for Clone Fest

Iowa State University has partnered with local brewery Backpocket Brewing to introduce Clone Fest, the first officially licensed craft beer for the Iowa State Cyclones. Clone Fest will be unveiled during a public launch event at Backpocket Brewing's Pin and Pixel venue on July 14. The festbier lager will be available at Backpocket Brewing locations and in Iowa State-branded cans at select retailers in the state from August to October. It can also be sampled at the Iowa Craft Beer Tent during Day 4 of RAGBRAI's journey on July 26 and at the Iowa State Fair from August 10 to 20.
The creation of this university-branded craft beer was a collaborative effort involving ISU's trademark licensing and athletic departments, its licensing agency, Collegiate Licensing Company, and its athletics multimedia rights holder, LEARFIELD. Backpocket Brewing will further support Cyclone Athletics as a sponsor through an enhanced activation with LEAFIELD's Cyclone Sports Properties. The proceeds from Clone Fest craft beer sales will contribute to various university initiatives and programs.
