University of Arkansas Trademark Licensing

The University of Arkansas Office of Trademark Licensing controls use of the university’s names, logos, seals, and other marks. Those marks stand for the university’s purpose, values, and traditions. The licensing program began in 1987, mainly to govern emblems and wording on specialty items. The university partners with Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) as its trademark-licensing representative.

Protected names and images include UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS®, ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS®, ARKANSAS®, HOGS™, WOOO PIG SOOIE®, Old Main®, Razorback marks, and the university seal. Variations or caricatures that could look like official Razorback marks are covered too. Products using registered marks should show ®; unregistered marks should show ™.

Any product with a university trademark — shirts, stickers, pins, bottles, pencils, and similar items — must come from an officially licensed vendor.
